Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows – Yepme.com Fashion Review
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is a movie inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels about the iconic fictional detective. The role of Sherlock Holmes and Dr.Watson is played by the electric duo, Robert Downey Jr. (from Iron Man series) and Jude Law (from Enemy at the Games, Cold Mountain etc). Though not exact to the original work, the story set in the 1890s, is about Holmes and Watson outwitting their most cunning and ruthless adversary, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris).
The fashion for this period adventure film is replete with English fashion of the times including newsboy hats, waistcoats, three piece suits, tweed jackets, cravats, tailored pea coats and trousers, and popular British accessories like the snood which is a tubular neck scarf. As this movie is rather a modern take on the original Sherlock Holmes, in some portions of the film, the actors do sport everyday casual wear as well. According to us at Yepme.com, Watson (Law) looks elegant in many scenes with his waistcoat, stiff double collar, necktie and a bowler hat. Overall Watson’s ensemble is more put together and refined than Holmes, which perhaps fits the characterization. In between his few disguises Holmes outfits look comfortable and tailored for rough combat. As a villain Moriarty mostly sports a double-breasted overcoat and a tall hat. If action and adventure is your cup of tea, this movie with its wit, chemistry and one-upmanship between the principal characters is a good entertainer from start to finish.
Yepme.com Party wear tips for the Alpha Male
The Alpha Male is the dominant male in a group. He exudes confidence and he is suave, sophisticated and well-groomed. The alpha male is into Power dressing not only at the work place where he dresses in the best formal wear but also when he goes out to have a good time.
While dressing for a corporate party, it is essential to keep two factors in mind. What you regularly wear to work (strictly formal, business casuals, jeans etc) and the location of where the party is going to be held at (Formal banquet, beach, resort etc). These two factors will help you decide what you should be wearing to these occasions. Corporate parties could involve dressing up or dressing down based on these two factors.
While dressing for cocktail parties, a business suit or a jacket and tie is considered suitable. You could also wear a sports jacket (textured or patterned) with black jeans and a black turtle neck sweater if the event is more casual. A pair of casual shoes and a stylish watch would complete the ensemble. But also make sure you ask your host if there is any dress code for the event and dress accordingly.
While dressing for an evening at the night club or an evening out with friends; the best style statement is a smart sports jacket over a flashy/dress shirt or a casual shirt over a pair of well fitting jeans. It is recommended that you leave the shirt untucked when wearing it with Jeans. However for the shirt to be left untucked, it needs to be a snug fit. Also, the length of the shirt should be level at the front and the back. It should be at the end of the zipper in the front of your pants and at the end of the pocket at the back.
For starters, investing in couple of party shirts, casual shoes and good cologne are all you need to make a beginning into the world of party dressing of the alpha male. Salman Khan’s Fashion – In his 5 Recent Blockbuster Movies
Wishing a Very Happy Birthday to the most Stylish Superstar. Yepme.com pays tribute to Salman Khan on his birthday. Today we discuss the fashion in Salman Khan’s 5 recent blockbuster movies.
Bodyguard (2011) – Salman as Lovely Singh is a bodyguard hired to protect Divya (Kareena Kapoor). As befits a bodyguard, we see Salman in crisp white shirts, black suits, black ties and dark glasses. But we liked his appearances more in colourful polo shirts in teal green and yellow, paired with nicely cut jeans.
Ready (2011) – Salman as Prem is up against a girl-on-the-run Sanjana (Asin) who enters his family as his bride! In this movie we especially liked him in striped t-shirt with black leather jacket and blue jeans and again in the combinations of breeze blue and dark grey shirts with dark trousers.
Dabangg (2010) – Salman as Chulbul Pandey plays a Robin Hood cop. Though he mostly appears in starched khakhi uniform; we liked the action cop more in straight trousers paired with shirts in brown and white, wearing sun glasses or even keeping it tucked on the back collar.
Wanted (2009) – Salman as Radhe, is an undercover cop, on a mission to finish the underworld. Since, Radhe spends a lot of time romancing Ayesha Takia; Salman wears trendy jeans, jackets, loose cotton trousers, and colourful linen shirts, making a real dashing sight.
Partner (2007) – Salman Khan teams up with Govinda in this comedy caper where he plays Prem, a love guru. Salman’s wardrobe is as light-hearted as the film; i.e. big buckled belts, printed t-shirts and jackets with stylish jeans.

Yepme.com Fashion Guide – History of Denim & Jeans
Origins: The sturdy denim was originally a fabric called ‘Serge’ from the city of Nîmes in France. It was called Serge de Nîmes and eventually got shortened to ‘denim’ (de Nîmes). The word ‘jeans’ comes from the French phrase bleu de Genes, meaning the blue of Genoa to indicate the jeans worn by Italian sailors from Genoa that were dyed blue with the Indigo.
Evolution: Jeans was originally worn by slaves who worked in plantations. In 1853, during the SanFrancisco gold mining rush, Levi Strauss started supplying clothes to miners who wanted trousers that would not tear easily. In 1872 Jacob Davis had the idea of using metal rivets to fasten the pockets to the pants and worked out a deal by which Levi Strauss patented it and thus was born the copper riveted Jeans. The ‘Cowboys’ in the Hollywood western movies popularized Jeans in the 1930s. In the 1950s Jeans became the symbol of teen rebels. In the 1960s the hippie culture brought painted and embroidered Jeans into fashion and soon Jeans became a symbol of western opulence. It is only from the 1970s that Jeans actually became an affordable comfort wear, popular across the world.
Fabric and the Garment: Even though the cotton twill fabric, i.e. Denim, has been almost synonymous with Jeans pants for a long time, both the fabric and the garment have evolved. Jeans is now made with different materials and in different colours and denim has also expanded into other garments like shorts, shirts, jackets, wallets, bags, hats and even parkas . Denim signifies casual, trendy and relaxed fabric and we at Yepme.com think it is an essential fabric in a man’s casual wear wardrobe.
Rajapattai (Tamil) – Yepme.com Fashion Review
In Rajapattai, the hero, Anal Murugan (Vikram) is a gym instructor who has dreams of bagging a villain’s role in a movie. Vikram has beefed up for his role and looks good in casuals and in sleeveless Tees that show his ripped muscles. Murugan bumps into an old man who has got himself caught in a ‘land grabbing’ situation and then goes about setting things right with the land mafia in a flurry of action sequences.
As regarding fashion, we at Yepme.com liked the diversity that Vikram brings to his onscreen appearance with his garments. Vikram goes for ‘colour’ in his outfits in this movie and wears T shirts in bright red, orange, electric blue etc and pants in yellow, red and orange too! In many scenes, he wears checked shirts that are layered over bright coloured T-shirts and jeans. Vikram’s black shirt with a red tie and red belt over blue jeans is a fun combo and in a song, he wears the ‘party classic’- sports jacket over a bright shirt and blue jeans. But his pink pants and white shirt combination can be carried off successfully only by a movie star. Vikram also dons 17 ‘get ups’ including a pirate look which seems to be inspired by Johnny Depp! In the movie he also romances Deeksha Seth, who appears as an IT professional. Deeksha as a heroine looks pretty and gorgeous in western and Indian outfits. Overall the movie has enough masala elements to delight Vikram’s fans.
Don 2 : The King is Back – Yepme.com Fashion Review
In Don 2, the sequel to Farhan Aktar’s 2006 film Don, the chase continues. Don (Shahrukh Khan) who has made an escape in the prequel resurfaces in Malaysia. Having conquered Asia’s underworld, he has more ambitious plans and heads West to conquer Europe. He hatches a plot to steal currency printing plates from a German bank. But his adversaries this time are stronger and smarter; and with police authorities including ex-flame and Interpol cop Roma (Priyanka Chopra) hot on his trail; both the heist and chase are edgy and gripping.
The movie frames are loaded with men in classy suits and jackets. But according to us at Yepme.com, Shahrukh stands out from the rest of the cast, with a certain flamboyance only he can bring to the screen. The pale grey to cobalt blue to burnt brown colour palette favored by the Don captures the steely modern look of the modern metropolis. Be it simpler white shirt dark suit combo’s or charcoal grey woollen suit with a zipped up steel grey leather jacket inside; Shahrukh’s attire is sleek and pleasing to the eyes. The smooth grey wind cheaters, bold quilted jerkins, navy trousers, and white shirts lend definition to the character. His accomplices in the master plot; i.e Sameer Ali (Kunal Kapoor) looks cool in his smart casuals while Vardhaan (Boman Irani) appears spruced up in dark suits. Though Priyanka and Lara sizzle on screen in flamboyant dresses, smart suits and business casuals; being an action-thriller, fashion is Don 2 is mostly a Man thing.
Let’s Talk Shirts – By Yepme.com
Shirt is the most important garment in a man’s wardrobe. With the right fabric, cut, fitting and colour, it can make a world of difference in his looks.
Types of shirts:
Suit Shirts: They have long sleeves and a collar and look best when worn under a formal suit or a sport coat. These are best for executives and for special occasions.
Dress Shirts: They are formal wear and have long sleeve and a cuff. For the regular office-goer, this is a perfect shirt.
Dinner Shirts: These are more formal than the suit shirts and have long sleeves and look great with a black tie. They are supposed to be worn for evening parties and events.
Half-Shirts: A half-shirt is a casual affair and is most suitable for any relaxed atmosphere.
Polo’s, T-Shirts and Sweat Shirts: These also belong to the casual clothing line. Polo’s and T-shirts generally have short sleeves and soft collars. Sweat shirts are pullovers and may or may not have a hood.
Things to Check While Buying a Shirt:
Fabric: There is a choice between man- made fibers such as cotton, wool, silk and the synthetic or petroleum based fibers, such as polyester. Hundred percent cotton shirts are the most comfortable but they are high maintenance. A cotton and polyester blend needs less ironing and is easy to wear.
Fitting: The next thing is the fitting of a shirt. It has to be well cut in order to give an excellent appearance. Shabby workmanship can really ruin a shirt.
Colour: For office goers neutral colours are the best, such as whites and various shades of blue. For casual wear, brighter colours can give a happy, charming appearance.
Design: Shirts with straight lines always look the best unless we are on a beach or at a party. For these other occasions there are floral and designer shirts, which can quickly get you into the fun mood.
Mission: Impossible 4 – Ghost Protocol – Yepme.com Fashion Review
And they are back! The much awaited Mission Impossible movie with all new pulse-numbing action sequences and breathtaking locales hits theatres this week. Wrongly accused of bombing the Kremlin, the Impossible Missions Force (IMF) has to work through the President declared Ghost Protocol to clear their name. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his new team of IMF fugitives take you on a thrilling rollercoaster ride that’ll keep you asking for more.
Amidst all the action lies loads of style. This time we find Ethan Hunt appearing in stylish suits and ensemble reminiscent of old Bond movies. Slim cut silk suits and trousers make for a striking agent going incognito. For other activities like jumping off buildings and running through desert storms, Tom oozes strength and agility in comfortable black t-shirts, vested jackets and lycra shorts. He is also found sporting white denim and stretch shirts and sometimes we think he is just getting better with age. Being a disgraced agent, Tom resorts to hooded jackets to work his way through and plan his next move. His moves are supported by his team and fashion catches up with them as well.
Paula Patton, the formidable eye candy, looks magnificent in an exquisite green ballroom gown. She shares the black wardrobe with the team, looking lithe and swift in her action sequences. Jeremy Renner, of The Hurt Locker fame, needs no introduction in carrying panache in high voltage action movies. Here, as an analyst, he sticks more to corporate formals, rolled up sleeves with loosened ties and straight cut trousers. And finally, Anil Kapoor, as wealthy Brij Nath, appears dashing in a cream suit and trouser complete with a bow tie. Over and out from the team at Yepme.com. Hope you too enjoy this stylish movie!
